CAIRO - 13 September 2017: Former Real Madrid player Steve McManaman believes that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s coaching strategy looks like Vicente Del Bosque’s, McManaman told ESPNFC on Wednesday.

“He's a bit like Del Bosque in that he keeps the whole squad happy, changes the team around at times so everybody's happy and, more importantly, he's got the utmost respect of all the players, and I think that helps a lot,” McManaman told ESPNFC.

McManaman, 45 years old, played alongside Zidane in Real Madrid under Del Bosque’s command in the Galácticos era of Real Madrid in the early 2000s, when the club included big football stars like Zidane, Ronaldo Nazario, Roberto Carlos and Luis Figo.

McManaman added, “I think a big help has been the fact the he has the history of the club at his heart. I know he played for other teams prior, but he's lived in Madrid since he retired. He was a superstar at the club and has been heavily involved.”

McManaman played for 4 years for Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003, winning two Spanish League “La Liga” titles and two Champions League trophies.
