CAIRO - 13 September 2017: Real Madrid announced on Wednesday that they reached an agreement with their Brazilian defender Marcelo Da Silva to renew his contract until 2022. The club announced that Marcelo will sign his new contract on Thursday.

Marcelo, 29, joined Real Madrid in 2007 from the Brazilian team Fluminense, where he started playing football.

Marcelo was a promising player since his arrival and has started to fulfill the left back position after the departure of Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos.

Marcelo booked a regular place in Real Madrid’s squad during the last 10 years. His amazing performance in one of the best teams in the world earned him a place in Brazilian national team.

Marcelo won many titles with the club; he won four Spanish League “La Liga” titles, three Champion Leagues trophies, two Spanish Cup titles, three Spanish Super Cups and three UEFA Super Cups.

Marcelo is Real Madrid’s Vice Captain after his teammate, Sergio Ramos and this renewal is a step towards Marcelo’s dream to retire inside his beloved club, Real Madrid.
