CAIRO – 28 August 2017: Hector Cooper decided on Sunday to exclude Mostafa Fathi from the lineup of the two matches against Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, scheduled on August 30 and September 5 in the third and fourth round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Fathi is still suffering from an injury he received earlier. The medical team tried to prepare the player through individual training during the past few days, but the injury persisted.

Therefore, the player was excluded from the coaching staff’s plans for the first and second matches against Uganda in the World Cup qualifiers. Zamalek defender Ali Gabr was excluded as well, also because of an injury, and the coaching staff called Mahmoud Ezzat Smouha’s defender instead.
