CAIRO – 22 August 2017: Aston Villa’s right wing back Ahmed al-Mohamady spoke on August 22 about his first win with Aston Villa against Norwich City on August 19.

Speaking to Yallakora, Mohamady talked about Aston Villa’s 4-2 win against Norwich City, his thoughts about his new team Aston Villa and whether or not the injury he received earlier in the match against Cardiff City would affect his chances in playing with his club and the Egyptian national team.

Mohamady stated, “I am very happy with the first win, especially that the team preformed really well. I hope we continue winning in future games.”

Mohamady added, “Since the first time I wore Aston Villa’s jersey, I knew that I play in a great team and I felt that through the great support of the fans. I know that the fans will not accept anything but to receive promotion back to the English Premier League and that is our target for this year.”

On his injury, Mohamady said, “Currently I am in a good condition and I was able to assist in the last match against Norwich City. Lastly, my injury will not prevent me from joining Egypt’s camp ahead of Uganda’s match.”

Ahmed al-Mohamady left Hull City during this transfer window to reunite with his old manager Steve Bruce at Aston Villa.
