CAIRO – 18 August 2017: The Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote showed on Thursday his desire to buy English club, Arsenal, Dangote first decision would be sacking Arsene Wenger.

“The first thing I would change is the coach, he has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck,” Dangote spoke to Bloomberg.com

Dangote, 60 years old is considered the richest man in Africa with a net worth of $11.1 billion, he is an Arsenal fan since he started following the club in mid 80s.

Arsene Wenger started coaching Arsenal since 1996, he just signed 2 years contract with the club last summer.

Dangote will wait till his new investment, the oil refinery construction in Lagos, Nigeria finishes to launch a takeover bid.

Dangote is confident of convincing the club’s shareholders, Stan Kroenka and Alisher Usmanov to accept his offer, he said “If they get the right offer, I’m sure they would walk away, someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away. And when we finish the refinery, I think we will be in a position to do that.”

“It’s a great team, well-run. It could be run better, so I will be there, I will wait. Even if things change I will take it,” Dangote further stated to Bloomberg.
