CAIRO – 8 August 2017: Al-Ahly SC announced their semi-final match squad on August 7, ahead of their match against Smouha SC in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup on August 9 at Borg al-Arab Stadium.

Hossam El Badry, Al-Ahly manager, selected the following 23 players in order to enter a private camp before their decisive match against Smouha SC:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed al-Shenawy, Ahmed Adel Abdel Moneim
Defenders: Bassem Ali, Mohamed Hany, Sabry Raheel, Hussein al-Sayed, Ali Maaloul, Ramy Rabea, Mohamed Nagiub

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Amr al-Sulaya, Ahmed Hamoudi, Akram Tawfik, Amr Barakat, Salah Gomaa, Abdallah al-Saeed, Momen Zakaria, Walid Soliman
Strikers: Junior Ajayi, Amr Gamal, Emad Moteab

Two of Al-Ahly crucial players, Saad Samir and Ahmed Fathy, will not be able to play in the next match. Samir was injured before the game, while Fathy will not play due to receiving too many yellow cards in the previous matches.

The winner of Al-Ahly against Smouha SC match will play against the winner of Zamalek’s match against Al-Masry in the final of the Egyptian Cup.
