World Aquatics Championships witnessed breaking of many records - Reuters

CAIRO - 27 July 2017: USA team succeeded to break 4x100m mixed relay on Wednesday in the qualification for the final in World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Ryan Murphy, Kevin Cordes, Kelsei Worrell and Mallory Comerford finished the relay after 3:40:28 to set a new record, the previous record was 3:41:71 set by the Great Britain team in 2015 in Kazan, Russia.

This is the second time for 4x100m mixed relay to be scheduled in world aquatics championships after 2015 in Kazan.

World aquatics championships in Budapest has witnessed breaking of many records like 50m breaststroke by the Briton, Adam Peaty.

Cameron McEvoy, Australian swimmer, was the only man under 48 seconds in 100m freestyle heats, he is the fastest to qualify for the finals.

McEvoy spoke after the relay, he said "That's been my quickest morning swim ever, With the improvement in depth of the 100 free, you can't do a heat saying you're going to back off or not try here.”

McEvoy, 23 years, added “You just have to nail it the way you want it and hope for the best."

Budapest hosts 2017 world aquatics championships from July 14 to 30.
