CAIRO – 24 July 2017: Benjamin Mendy, French international left back, signed with Manchester City on July 24, coming from French League Champions AS Monaco.

Mendy became the most expensive left back after signing with Manchester City, in a deal reported to be around £52 million ($65 million), according to ESPN.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Mendy said, “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City. They are one of Europe’s leading Clubs, and in Pep Guardiola, they have a manager committed to playing attacking football. I am sure that over the next few years we will be successful.”

Benjamin Mendy will travel to Los Angeles to join Manchester City’s pre-season camp in order to prepare for their second friendly game against Real Madrid.

Mendy will wear the number 22 shirt next season while playing for the Citizens (Manchester City’s nickname).

Mendy contributed in Monaco’s last season’s success, winning the league title and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
