CAIRO – 24 July 2017 Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, compared Liverpool’s duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich’s winger Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Talking to Liverpool Echo on July 23, Klopp addressed the possible positions in which he could play Mane and Salah along with comparing them with Robben and Ribery.

Klopp talked with Liverpool Echo saying, “Mane could play on the right and Salah could play as the attacking midfielder in the middle. No problem. Salah can even play as the striker. He was the striker, the second striker, at times for Roma. We have lots of different options.”

Klopp moved on to compare them with Bayern’s duo saying, “Bayern Munich’s most successful time was with a left footer on the right wing and a right footer on the left wing. (Franck) Ribery and (Arjen) Robben. That wasn’t the worst idea!”

Salah concluded his talk with Liverpool echo saying, “Salah is a fantastic player. No doubt about it. Speed is wonderful but we need to use it in a smart way. The other night we were shooting balls in Salah’s direction and he was running like crazy but he can’t do that all the time.”

The Egyptian International winger Salah recently joined Liverpool and began playing in Liverpool’s friendly matches in the pre-season where he managed to score his first two goals with Liverpool.
