CAIRO – 16 July 2017: The Egyptian national women’s volleyball team lost to Bulgaria 3-0 in the U-20 Women’s Volleyball World Championship match played in Cordoba, Mexico.
Bulgaria dominated the match, ending the first set 25-17, the second one 25-21 and the third one 25-23.

Nada Meawad scored 10 points for Egypt as the best scorer on the Egyptian team, and Mayar Mohamed shared second place with Nourallah Mohamed, scoring six points each, while Aleksandra Milanova scored 12 points for Bulgaria.

Egypt lost the opening match against the host nation, Mexico, 3-2 after a tough match. Egypt will face Russia in the last group match.

Egypt plays in Group A, alongside Russia, Mexico and Bulgaria. The team is coached by experienced volleyball coach Nour Attia.

The Women’s U-20 Volleyball World Championship is being held in Mexico from July 14-24. Mexico is hosting the competition for the third time after 1981 and 2009.
