CAIRO – 14 July 2017: Thousands of mourners gathered Friday in large numbers to say “rest in peace” to the six-year-old Bardley Lowery, wearing t-shirts of Sunderland, his favorite team and, his name on the back at Blackhall Colliery.

Bardley battled with cancer for a few months, and all footballers in England and all over the world supported him against the rare form of cancer.

Jermain Defoe, former Sunderland striker and the England National Team, leaves his team's pre-season training camp in Spain to attend the funeral of Bradley Lowery back in England.

After leaving Sunderland, the 34-year-old Defoe signed a three-year long contract with the Cherries, after the Sunderland's exclusion from the Premier League.
