CAIRO – 13 July 2017: German playmaker Mesut Ozil spoke on July 12 about his decision on whether to stay or leave Arsenal.

Arsenal will fly to Australia and China this summer for a pre-season tour.

"It is definitely my preference to stay. It is such a great club, and I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal,” Ozil told Arsenal’s official website.

"Once everyone is back in London, we will sit down and discuss about the future,” the German playmaker added to the club’s website.

Mesut Ozil made 44 appearances in the 2016/17 season with Arsenal, netted 12 goals and made 14 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Ozil ended his talk with the official website, saying, "For now, the most important thing is our pre-season and getting through the tour, training and getting fitness. When I’m back in London, we will sit down and discuss."

Arsenal will face Sydney FC on Thursday and Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday before heading to China to play against Bayern Munich on July 19 in Shanghai and against Chelsea on July 22 in Beijing.
