CAIRO – 9 July 2017: Emad Moteab denied rumors reporting his retirement at the end of this season. Motaeb played for ten minutes during Al-Ahly’s victory over Coton Sport on Saturday night.

“My greeting to Al-Ahly fans wasn’t a retirement sign, it was a reaction to their support to me and the team,” Moteab told Al Ahly official website.

Moteab, 34 years old, played for Al-Ahly since his promotion to the first team from Al-Ahly Academy in 2004. He scored his first goal on his debut during the 2005 Egyptian League open match against Suez Cement SC.

Motaeb talked about the role Al-Ahly fans played in the victory, he said “Al-Ahly fans played a huge role in our qualification to the African Champions League quarter-finals, they supported the players in the match, I am so happy to see them back to the stadium, their support makes us happy,” Moteab continued on Al-Ahly official website.

Al-Ahly won 3-1 over Cameroon’s Coton Sport on Saturday and secured their qualification for the African Champions League quarterfinals.
