CAIRO - 28 March 2020: The Egyptian-Lebanese Publication House will give a large number of books in gifts to the isolation hospitals where those who are quarantined can enjoy their time with reading, announced the CEO of the house and Arab Publishers Association Chairperson Mohamed Rashad in a statement.

The initiative aims to kill time inside the quarantine, he said, expressing his willingness to communicate with officials at the Ministry of Health to send the books to the hospitals in the correct and hygienic way.

He also affirmed that the house launched another initiative of delivering books to the clients for free.

Egypt’s Health Ministry announced Friday that 41 new cases have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of infections in Egypt to 536.

The Egyptian government has taken gradual steps in dealing with the coronavirus spread, starting from banning the study at schools and universities and suspending the international flights to mid-April. A partial curfew was imposed, while all restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, casinos, night clubs, bars, shopping centers (malls), and other local shops shut down completely until April 14, 2020.
