CAIRO - 19June 2019: Google celebrated on Tuesday falafel, the most popular dish in the Middle East, which is also known as ta'amiya.

Falafel is one of the most popular meals and the favorite breakfast for many in Egypt and Sudan.

The most popular theory suggests the dish was invented in Egypt about 1000 years ago by Egyptians.

It is made from ground chickpeas and fava beans or both, herbs, spices and onions are usually added to the dough. Some countries cook flafel using hummus instead of beans.

Falafel contains a large amount of dietary fiber, vitamins and proteins that supplies the body with energy and helps people feel fuller for a longer period.

India produces the vast majority of the world’s chickpea crop, which currently is in high season.

The world’s largest falafel was fried for 25 minutes at the Landmark Hotel in Jordan. It weighed 164.8 pounds and reached a height of 59.8 inches.
