CAIRO – 31 January 2018: It tracks multiple habits, each with its own calendar, keeps a log of streaks and the percentage of success in sticking to each habit. It also allows you to have flexible goal setting: a habit can be tracked by a simple yes/no or by a specific number.

Habit Bull is a habit tracking app available exclusively on the App Store, created by AppForge Inc. According to its description, it allows you to organize your life by keeping track of “all your habits, routines and repeated to-dos.”

The way it works is that you set up a habit, customized as much as you could probably need, track your habit everyday and habit bull will tell you the success you’ve had with that specific habit over the course of the past period of time.

In my experience, the app has a bit of a learning curve when you first start to use it. The number of aspects on each screen is a bit much and it can be confusing at first. But use it once, twice, three times and you’ve got the hang of it. After that it’s a pretty simple app to use. The most difficult part of using it is remembering to actually come back each day and fill in your habits for the day. There’s a setting to "remind you sometimes" but I would have liked to be reminded always.

I used it over the course of three weeks, and once I got past the first few uses, I was pleasantly surprised about the ease of use. It was also extremely satisfying seeing my streaks for each habit get longer and longer; it was a motivating factor in continuing to do the habits and continuing to log them in the app. I had such a good time using the app, as its design is also very appealing. It may seem a bit busy at first but once you get used to it, you don’t notice anymore.

Overall, I’d give this app a 4/5 because it’s visually appealing, it incentivized my habits and I enjoyed using it.
