CAIRO – 6 April 2017: International radio station NRJ FM, targeting Egyptian millennials, made its Cairo debut Monday with a luxurious opening ceremony at the Nile Ritz Carlton,

Digital Boom

reported.

The radio station will feature about 22 different radio shows airing around the clock as well as including audience members in the studio during live radio shows for the first time in Egypt, according to Digital Boom.

NRJ aims to be the first to air the latest hits in both Arabic and English in Egypt in order “to keep in synch with milennials’ musical interests.”

During the opening ceremony Richard Mazaret, CEO of NRJ Group, said Egypt has a vast market which will spread the radio station quickly across the nation.

Egyptian Facebook users have critic

ized NRJ’s marketing campaign on social media

due to its lack of informing the public on its background.

French-based NRJ radio stations are broadcasting in more than 24 countries around the globe, including Morocco and Lebanon.
