CAIRO – 5 December 2017: Egyptian fashion designer Hany El-Behairy has created Egypt’s most expensive wedding dress, which was presented during his spring/summer 2018 collection fashion show.


Rafiq Antoine Malik, the owner of Sarana Diamond Jewelry, supplied the diamonds used to design the wedding dress presented by actress Yousra El Lozy during the fashion show. The masterpiece is said to be valued at $5 million.


The dress is made up of the finest materials, while also covered in 120 carats of diamonds. Malik and El-Behairy were driven with one goal in mind: to create Egypt’s most expensive wedding dress.



Hany El-Behairy began his career in fashion at the age of 15 and has participated at the Mediterranean Festival in Napoli. He was awarded the “Best Fashion Designer” prize at the Haute Couture in the Middle East.


He has also taken part in “Moda Week”, the infamous Italian fashion festival, seven times, alongside some of the world’s most reputable Designer Houses like Chanel, Valentino and Scada in the Oriental Nights.


His designs pervade the elite Egyptian society and all Arab countries, while dressing some of the most famous celebrities in the region, including Yousra, Laila Elwy, Warda Al Gazaeria, Elham Shahin, Safaa Abu El Seoud, Latifa, Hanan Tork and Dalia El Behairy.


The world’s most expensive wedding dress currently stands at $ 12 million, with 150 carats of diamonds. It was created by bridal gown expert René Strauss. It was fist showcased at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Ray in California, U.S. and has also been exhibited at Dubai's Fashion and Diamonds Show.
