CAIRO – 13 November 2017: While people cannot tell specifically who invented it, Shawarma is said to be a Greek, Turkish and Arabian cultural blend. It is usually carved from a slowly rotating cone of meat or chicken, and the Arabic word Shawarma is said to have originated from the Turkish word “çevirme,” which means rotating something, referring to the slow rotation of the cone near the fire.

You can have it as beef or chicken, in large or super-size, or you can even eat it as Fatteh and it would still be more delicious than you can fathom. That is why some argue that Shawarma is the definition of love and while the debate has not been settled yet, we urge you to try these Shawarma joints to help you make up your mind.
