CAIRO – 16 October 2017: Egypt's champions in the Paralympic Swimming Championships, Dina Tarek and Mohamed Abdel-Bary, announced their engagement after they returned from the tournament, which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2016.

Their love story began during their joint 35 days of training to join the World Federation competition.

Mahmoud, 22-years-old, is a bronze, silver and gold medalist swimmer from the El Maadi Club. He has received 85 medals. He also works at a private university in Cairo. His fiancée, Dina, is a swimmer at Smouha Club in Alexandria.

Dina’s dream has come true. She met her prince charming one day after participating in a fashion show wearing a white dress.

Mahmoud and Dina are a couple with Down Syndrome. They received a medical approval and approval from El Sharia for their marriage because they are in an advanced condition. This couple decided to challenge real life. Mahmoud always said that Dina taught him the meaning of happiness.

They had been the biggest motivation for each other during the championship, in which Mahmoud managed to achieve 50 meters in 35 seconds, while Dina scored 50 meters in 59 seconds.
