In the Democratic changes stemming from the 25 January revolution, and its second wave in 30 June, the Cairo Center for Development held on 15 September a roundtable to discuss the adequate representation of women in parliament. Since these changes have confirmed the importance of democracy in political and social structures, based on rights and enhancing the effective participation of women, and promoting and advocating women’s issues. It also stressed the importance of strengthening the representation of women so they would become an active part in the decision-making process through the integration of the principles of equality between the sexes and dismantling stereotypes and strengthening the partnership between women and men.
