CAIRO – 29 September 2017: If you are a teenager then acne is one of your most evil enemies, it is caused mainly by a significant rise in the levels of androgen (male hormones) in both males and females between the ages of 12 and 24. Many other factors could contribute to causing and spreading acne from overstressing to not being hygienic enough. Since we are back to school and you do not want acne to affect your social status or public image, et made you a simple guide on how to handle acne:

Do not touch your face too much: this is the most common tip and it does make sense, as touching your face with your hands too much helps spread bacteria and in case you already have acne it means this might upset the infected areas and hurt you more.

Do not attempt to pop or scratch it: this might lead to more acne, scarring and you do not want to live your life with a reminder of acne.

Do not stress: relax because it might save your skin, according to Web MD, studies showed a distinct relation between stress and acne's spread. So make sure not to stress yourself out over everything or over think your problems.

Do stay clean: this might seem too general, but keeping your face and hands clean at all time is bound to limit the possibility or the spread of acne as it limits the spread of bacteria and helps treatments like lotions work more effectively.

Do moisturize: make sure your skin stays hydrated because, according to Web MD, many of the products that treat acne cause dryness to the skin. You should use a moisturizer that reads "noncomedogenic' on the label, which means it does not cause acne.

Do contact an expert: consulting a dermatologist might be your best choice in case acne gets too stubborn, as the specialist will know exactly your type of skin, what is causing you acne and how to treat it properly.
