CAIRO – 10 September 2017: The Victoria and Albert Museum in London announced on September 6, 2017 that they are launching a major fashion exhibition for 2018 in the memory of Frida Kahlo’s unique wardrobe.

The exhibition will run from June 16, 2018 to November 4, 2018. Kahlo is renowned for her flamboyant style and colorful flower garlands. She was a fashion and art icon.

Kahlo’s style influenced numerous celebrities and designers including Beyoncé, Salma Hayek, Riccardo Tisci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Kahlo is a Mexican self-portrait artist and feminist icon. She was born on July 6, 1907. She died on July 13, 1954.

Kahlo’s collective works include 143 paintings and 55 self-portraits. Her paintings and self-portraits are a reflection of her life and struggles; her work heavily drew from personal experiences and is characterized by portrayals of pain.
