CAIRO – 1 August 2017: A new scientific research done by American researchers from Texas University revealed that eating mango has a positive effect on people with inflammatory bowel disease.

According to the American medical website MedicalXpress, a team of researchers under the leadership of Dr. Susanne Talcott, Texas research scientist, found out that that inflammatory bowel disease is a serious sign of colon cancer, as the most common forms of that disorder are Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative colitis.

Earlier studies showed that around 1.5 million people suffer from inflammatory bowel disease in the United States and around 2.2 million suffer from it in Europe and other countries.

The American Cancer Society has revealed that in 2016 they discovered 134490 new cases of Colon and Rectum Cancer in the United States, which led to 49,190 deaths.
Researchers assured that mangos are rich in glutamate, which is a group of molecular ‘Polyphenols’ that can be divided into small biologically active molecules absorbable by intestinal bacteria.

Researchers have found that the symptoms of ulcerative colitis have notably decreased together with the inflammation after eight weeks of consuming mangos.
