CAIRO - 28 March 2020: Cairo Opera House will broadcast Swan lake Ballet performed by the Royal Russian Ballet troupe on March 29 at 9 p.m.

The concert comes as part of the initiative “Stay Home ... Culture is between your hands” launched by Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem to encourage citizens to stay at home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The Ministry has also launched a website to broadcast activities to entertain people while they stay at home during the imposed curfew.

The minister’s decision is a serious step to combat the morbid virus on the cultural front, where activities reach citizens at home after the decision to suspend activities for fear of spreading the virus.

A concert for Tunisian star Saber el-Rebai was broadcast on the Ministry of Culture’s official YouTube channel on March 27 at 9 p.m.

During the concert, Rebai performed a wide selection of his most popular hits, including “Ya Asal”, “Ana Bahen”, “Share’ el-Gharam”, “Sidi Mansour”, “Barsha Barsha”, among others.

In a different context and in celebration of the World Theater Day, the play “Ahlan Ya Bakawat” was presented. The play is written by Lenin el-Ramly and directed by Essam el- Sayed. “Ahlan Ya Bakawat” is starring Hussein Fahmy and Ezzat el-Alayli.

The play revolves around the relationship between the Egyptian and Arab societies in the future through the two classmates Burhan and Mahmoud, who later got separated. Mahmoud works as a history teacher, while Burhan received higher academic degrees and became a leading scientist.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem agreed with the Minister of State for Information Osama Haikal to broadcast the "Stay in the House ... Culture is in Your Hands" initiative's programs daily on Egyptian TV channels.

Head of the National Media Authority Hussein Zain set a fixed date for the broadcast on the second channel at 9 p.m. starting March 25.
