CAIRO – 17 June 2017: There has been a discovery of bones and coffins dating back to the Bronze Age in a cave 25 meters underground in Cyprus.

Greek geologist Jean-Claude Lamerla and his colleague Jean Eve Corto discovered an oak tree with its roots planted in a rock and its branches concealing a cave door.

The lower jaw of a human mouth was also discovered in the cave. It is believed to be to one of the shepherds who lived in this region during the Bronze Age.

Lamerla and Corto found several bones in a cave that contained cow bones. The two geologists took photos and sent them to the archaeological office.

Lamerla and Corto are now working to understand more details about the cave’s contents.
