CAIRO –8 June 2017: Best selling writer Ahmed Mourad and famed film director Marwan Hamed are back at it, the creators of 2014’s blockbuster thriller/drama film el-Feel el-Azraq (The Blue Elephant), are giving their audience another taste of genius with their upcoming Eid film, el-Asleyeen (The Originals.)
After collaborating for the first time onel-Feel el-Azraq , the duo decided to continue working in the direction of thriller/drama/mystery and use one of their previous leading men, Khaled el-Sawy, since their last film with these similar aspects was a huge success in Egyptian cinemas.
The filmmakers dropped the trailer last week and delivered the chills intended. Khaled el-Sawy portrayed yet another eerie main character, leading Maged el-Kedwany, also star of the film, into the unknown. The trailer does not give much away, but we see a lot of fiction take place.
The plot focuses on a group called el-Asleyeen (the Originals) who want and manage to get Kedwany to join them. The element of surprise is left for the rest of events, which is to be released in less than a month. We also see Egyptian star Menna Shalaby and Syrian star Kinda Alloush take part in this upcoming masterpiece.
The film is not only a collaboration between filmmakers Mourad and Hamed, but also collaboration between Red Star and New Century production and distribution houses.
