CAIRO - 9 April 2019: The Canadian play “Last fifteen seconds” was performed in Cairo on April 9, 10 at 8 p.m. on the stage of one of the universities in Cairo as part of the events of Sharm El Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth.

The play comes in coordination with the management of the Sharm El Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth in order to allow the audience of Cairo to see the best play performance winner in the festival’s fourth edition.

"The Last 15 Seconds" by Magdy Bou Matar depicts the last moments in the life of the world-famous Syrian filmmaker Mustafa el-Akkad through flashbacks of his life and his experience in Hollywood and in the international cinema.

The honorary president of the fourth session of Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth is veteran actress Samiha Ayoub, whereas veteran actor Mohamed Sobhy heads the judging committee.

The festival is held under the patronage of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy and South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda.

Mustafa el-Akkad was a Syrian American film producer and director, best known for producing the original series of Halloween films and directing “The Message” and “Lion of the Desert”. He was killed along with his daughter Rima el-Akkad in the 2005 Amman bombings.
