CAIRO - 24 March 2019: The Paris-based Three Choirs International Short Film Festival chose Cairo and Alexandria to host the festival's 21st edition in June 2019 for the fifth year in a row.

The two Arab cities are among 80 cities around the world in 30 countries, hosting the festival’s events, including France, Romania, Italy, Canada, China, Greece and Spain.

The festival aims to expand its audience and introduce its events to new cultures, while increasing the local performances in preparation for the Egyptian films' participation in the official competition of the festival in the 2020 edition.

The festival’s management also aims to hold seminars on short films due to its current importance. The seminars will be held at the French Cultural Center in Cairo and Alexandria.

The festival usually achieves great success, not only in France - the organizing country - but also in the many countries that sponsor it. Egypt is joining the list of sponsoring countries with the participation of the French Culture Center in Cairo and Alexandria for the fifth year in a row.

The festival’s program includes 150 films, which are presented through three official competitions. The participating films are selected from a total of nearly 3000 films from all over the world.

Moreover, as part of the ongoing support of the British University in Egypt for international cultural events, the university signed a cooperation protocol with Reem Lotfi Saad, the official representative of the Three Choirs International Film Festival's 21st session.

The British University in Egypt will present the Best Film Award for the local competition for short films held on the sidelines of the festival in Egypt, which is worth LE 20,000.
