CAIRO - 18 March 2019: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem announced on March 17 the launch of the first Artistic Excellence Award, in cooperation with the Academy of Arts in Cairo, headed by Ashraf Zaky and the Academy of Arts in Rome.

The award aims to encourage young talents and stress the importance of supporting them.

Zaky stated that the Artistic Excellence Award is granted to the best student of the different academic institutes in Cairo. Winners will get to spend a month in Rome and visit museums, cultural and artistic institutions and academies, in addition to attending numerous lectures on the management of cultural institutions and cultural diplomacy.

Head of the Academy of Arts in Rome Jihane Zaky stated that 2019 marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Arts in Rome, which, since 1929, has been embracing the young artists and intellectuals and providing support for Egyptians talents, contributing to the production of a generation of significant Egyptian artistic innovators, such as; Yusif Kamel, Abdel Kader Rizk, and Mohamed Nagy, among others.
