CAIRO - 5 June 2017: Photography and design hub Photopia will launch the ‘
that will run June 7, 14 and 21 at different venues in Cairo.
The festival will feature three workshops about street photography conducted by renowned photographers including ‘The Power of Mobile Photography’ by Abdulrahman Mohamed, ‘The Holy Motion’ by Nelly el-Sharkawy and ‘Super Excellent Creature’ by Fathi Hawas.
An independent photographer interested in conceptual documentary, Hawas has participated in local and international exhibitions and has displayed his work in Denmark, Dubai and Cairo.
Sharkawy is well-known for shooting conceptual self-portraits and has participated in three exhibitions at Sawy Cultural Center and was nominated in the architectural top ten photos in El-Sharka award.
Freelance mobile photographer Mohamed is a college senior who cherishes photography and will be leading the opening workshop.
Each workshop will extend over a two-day period where participants will learn about street photograph and photo selection and take part in a critique at Photopia.
