CAIRO - 20 February 2019: President of Egypt’s Writers Union Alaa Abdel Hady is set to sign a protocol of cooperation with Palestinian novelist Nafez Rifai, president of the Palestine Book Association, on Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the union’s office in Zamalek.

Abdel Hady affirmed that the protocol comes from the joint desire of Egypt’s Writers Union and the Palestinian Book Association to strengthen the cultural ties between their members and achieve a real cultural integration between writers and poets in the two Arab countries.

The cooperation protocol aims to boost cooperation between both unions in the translation field; it also targets organizing annual meetings to exchange cultural knowledge and visions between writers to hold creative workshops in the fields of literature and to provide the necessary support to Palestinian writers.
