CAIRO - 10 February 2019: Cairo Monodrama Festival comes to a closure on Feb 10, granting its awards to the winners during the closing ceremony of the festival’s second edition. Veteran actress Safia el-Emari will be honored during the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony will be held on Hanager Theater in Cairo Opera House.

The festival’s second edition was organized under the auspices of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and was headed by Osama Raouf.

The play “Golden bars” staged at 4 p.m. in Hoda Wasfy’s hall, and the closing ceremony will be launched at 8 p.m., where numerous artistic shows and events will be held in the presence of pioneering Arab and Egyptian names.

The ceremony begins with the national anthem, followed by a speech by the festival’s President Osama Raouf and honoring Emari. Furthermore, the festival’s judging panel will then present the festival’s awards to the winners.

Nine plays competed in the Cairo Monodrama Festival; “Ana Carmen” (I am Carmen), “Donia”, “Adrenaline”, “Laqta men Omry” (A scene in my life), “Zeyara Zat masa’a” (A visit in the evening), “Sakta” (Speechless), “Golden Bars”, and “El Kaboos” (The nightmare).

The nine plays represented Egypt, UAE, KSA, Yemen, Jordan, Algeria, France and Libya.

It is worth noting that the festival also held numerous theatrical workshops on various theatrical aspects.
