Elissa increases Lebanese people’s awareness about cancer

CAIRO – 5 February 2019: In conjunction with the International Day of Cancer, Lebanese singer Elissa was keen to launch an awareness campaign, asking Lebanese people to detect this disease early.

"Cancer is present now in every family in Lebanon; we can’t ignore it anymore," Elissa wrote on her Twitter account.

Elissa performed a concert in Egypt on January 18. The yield of the concert was fully dedicated to Egyptian breast cancer patients. Elissa previously expressed her happiness for being chosen to be the ambassador of the breast cancer awareness campaign.

“I am proud to be the ambassador of the national campaign to combat breast cancer," said the star during the campaign.

Elissa revealed having breast cancer in her latest clip "Ela Kol Ely Beyheboony" (To All Those Who Love Me), in which she shed light on her struggle with the disease and her recovery.

Elissa is one of Lebanon's most famous singers and one of the best known artists in the Arab world. She was the best-selling female Middle Eastern artist for 2005 and 2009.

In 2005, 2006 and 2010, she received the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, and became the first Lebanese singer to receive the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist.

It is worth mentioning that he Lebanese star has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Elissa is also one of the richest celebrities in Lebanon, with an estimated wealth of over $40 million. As of 2017, Elissa has had over 44 million followers on social media.
