CAIRO – 30 January 2019: The Egyptian Opera House presents three concerts for the Russian the St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre Group in Cairo Opera House and Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria.

The St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre Group will present two shows on Feb. 1 and 2 on the Grand Theater in Cairo Opera House. Another show will be performed in Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria on Feb. 3.

“The St. Petersburg Theater Ballet Group is one of the world's most important international groups, whose performances are characterized by harmony and vitality,” commented Magdy Saber, head of the Egyptian Opera House.

The St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre was founded in 1994 by Russian entrepreneur Konstantin Tachkin for the purpose of delivering classical Russian ballet to audiences worldwide.

This company is made up mostly of graduates of the famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg. They travel with their own orchestra under the baton of conductor Alexander Kantorov.

The principal dancers include Irina Kolesnikova, Anna Podlesnaya, Dmitri Akulinin, Andrei Stelmakhov, Olga Ovchinnikova and Oleg Harutkin.
