CAIRO – 15 January 2019: The Egyptian-French cultural and artistic year 2019 will be divided into six segments: exhibitions, music concerts, dance shows and theater, art of life, literature and creativity and Munira art.

“Domoo’ Hadid” (Iron Tears)

A joint production between the Breglokage Ballet and the Cairo Opera House will be held in March, where famed architect Zaha Hadid will be honored. The show will be led by Walid Awni, a dance designer and founder of the Modern Egyptian Dance Ensemble.

”Ahlam al-Qahira” (Cairo Dreams)

"Ahlam al-Qahira” will be performed as part of the events of D-CAF (Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival) on April 3 and 4.

”Casablanca Dance”

The hip hop dance, which is part of the identity of the city of Casablanca, will be presented by eight pioneering hip-hop dancers, who will highlight the culture of this vibrant Moroccan city through their creativity. The show will be held during the closure of D-CAF in Cairo on April 18 and in Alexandria in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on April 20.

In honor of late singing legend Umm Kulthum, veteran musician Bossouf and his band will perform some of the classics of the late singer on September 12, 2019.

Classical and Contemporary Dances

The activities of the joint Egyptian-French cultural year 2019 will come to an end in December, where the dancers of the Egyptian Opera and the dancers of the French Opera will perform dancing shows in Paris to music composed specifically for this distinctive occasion.
