CAIRO - 1 June 2017: The Alexandria University’s Sculpture department professor, Ahmed Barakat, launched a new project titled “Sculptured Words” that personalizes the lyrics of renowned singer Ali El-Haggar and turns them into sculptures.

Barakat’s first works include ‘A’am Batata’, a song released by Haggar in 1991. The song has been reimagined as a sculpture that depicts the characteristics of Egyptian citizens during their times of strengths and weaknesses, according to Barakat’s official Facebook page.

The project has been ongoing for a year, selecting Haggar’s songs that could best be envisioned as a sculpture. ‘A’am Batata’ is expected to be completed within the next year and a half.
