CAIRO – 17 December 2018: Tunisian Minister of Culture Mohamed Zainul Abedin and President of the 20th edition of Carthage Theatrical Days Festival Hatem Derbal honored Egyptian veteran actor Abdul Rahman Abou Zahra during the closing ceremony of the festival.

Moreover, Tunisian veteran actress Mona Nor el-Din, Moroccan film critic Hassan al-Mene’e, artist Samy Abdul Hamid from Iraq and Jordanian actor Ghanam Ghanam were also honored during the festival’s closing ceremony.

Abou Zahra is an Egyptian actor and director born in Damietta, Egypt. He is married with three children; May, Sahar and Ahmad. His first stage role was “Awdat al-Shabaab". He then participated in many plays like “Telmeeth al-Shaytaan (The devil’s student), “Masra’ Cleopatra" (The death of Cleopatra), “Bedaaya wa Nehaaya (Dead among the living), among others.

The veteran actor played a number took part in a number of TV series, including “Sanawaat al-Dehk wal Domo’" (Years of laughter and tears), “Al-Sokout fee Be’r Sab’" (Falling), “Lan Ae’esh fee Gelbaab Aby” (I will not live in my father’s robe).
Additionally, Abou Zahra presented the children's radio show “Sondouk al-Donya” for over twenty years.
