CAIRO – 10 December 2018: Famed Egyptian comedian Ashraf Abdel Baqi travelled to Saudi Arabia on Dec. 9 to start rehearsing for his new show alongside the stars of the Saudi Theater.

The show is set to take place in the Literary Cultural Club in Jeddah. The theatrical play is produced by Sadiq al-Sabah with the participation of 50 Saudi actors and actresses. The first shows gained huge success among the public in Saudi Arabia.

The performances were launched in Sept. 2018 in a theater hosting 720 spectators. Twenty two individuals affiliated with Masrah Masr (Theater of Egypt) took part in setting the sound and decorations in the Saudi theater.

The theatrical season includes 20 performances directed by Saeed Hamid and written by two Saudi writers, including Nasser al-Dekhaili. Tickets are sold at 30-40 riyals on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
