CAIRO - 29 November 2018: Cairo International Film Festival Head Mohamed Hefzy started his speech by thanking all the festivals sponsors. '' What pleased me the most that all the movies tickets were sold out, the matter that didn't occur before in any previous edition'' Hefzy said.

Hefzy expressed his pride with Cairo Industry Days that was tailor made to sport young Arab filmmakers to complete their projects. '' I would like to thank the festival sponsors as they sported Cairo Industry Days'' Hefzy recounted. Cairo Industry Days budget was $150000.

Hefzy added that CIFF's management decided to cancel the Gomhour Award, which has been previously announced, due to technical difficulties which led to a decline in the voting rates.

The award will hence be granted to the winning film of the Golden Pyramid Award, a prize worth to $20,000.

The closing ceremony of the 40th edition of Cairo International Film Festival kicked off a few minutes ago at Cairo Opera House.

The closing ceremony started with a short speech by the famed Egyptian actor Mahmoud Hemeida.

'' Cinema is the vivid memory of imagination that is important for all the human beings'' Hemeida recounted. Hemeida praised the role played by CIFF head Mohamed Hefzy announcing that all the Egyptian filmmakers wished long ago to have a young head to the festival, as youth like Hefzy has a youthful vision.
