CAIRO – 12 October 2018: Egypt’s bustling capital, Cairo, had always been the
center of attention of most academics and historians around the world,
analyzing and understanding the historical center of the most significant country in the
MENA region.

As a nod to Cairo’s role as the region’s beating heart, the National Center for Translation produced a book entitled “Cairo: An International City;New Middle East in the midst of Globalization”.

The book is written by Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Public Relations in the American University in Washington, Diane Singerman. The first copy in English was printed in the 2009.

According to Heba Rabee, the book focuses on;anthropology, social sciences, architectural planning, politics, economics and antiquities.

Twenty-one researchers of several nationalities have been working hard to write a detailed book exposing everything in Cairo; its shabby areas most luxurious spaces. Public parks, theatrical entities, cinematic spaces and even cultural and folkloric celebrations will be central to the much much-anticipated print.

Researcher Eric Dennis attempts to reveal Cairo from his own eyes in the book’s first part, Omneya Shaker alludes to the city’s more socialist elements in the book’s second part, Eric Denis and Leila Vignal reveal it as an international hubs in third part, Saeed Sadek exposes it as a cultural hub in the book’s fourth part.

The book is greatly anticipated for readers eager to learn and understand what happened in Egypt during different regimes, based on detailed analysis.
