CAIRO – 11 October 2018: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem will inaugurate the 10th edition of Cairo Jazz Festival on October 11.

The Cairo Jazz Festival launched its 10th edition during a press conference held on Oct.3 at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis.

Founder of the Cairo Jazz Festival Amro Salah said that the festival aims to raise awareness about Jazz music through inviting 14 countries, including Germany, Hungary, Austria, Netherlands, Japan, Luxembourg and Finland for the first time to present 21 concerts over four days.

Among the international stars participating in the festival are Syrian Lynn Adib, Portuguese Rita Maria, Austrian David Halbuck, Czech Dan Barta, Hungarian Esther Fakzi and Jerome Klein band from Luxembourg.

Egyptian-German band Cairo Steps, Egyptian Singer Nouran Abu Taleb, as well as the Egyptian bands Hawidro and Baghdadi will also partake in the festival.

In this regard, Salah revealed that the AUC will provide 12 bus lines at different places, and that the festival’s tickets cost LE 200 for a whole day.

In the same context, Cultural Adviser to the President of the American University in Cairo, Heinz Mahoney, pointed out that holding this year’s edition at the AUC's new campus in the fifth settlement aims to build an artistic and cultural center in New Cairo.
