CAIRO – 3 August 2018: Observers and spectators lived a state of spirituality as they watched the play “Shabab Fe Ain al-Rasol” (The Youth from the Eyes of the Prophet) that was played as part of the National Theatre Festival program this year.

The play was performed in the Balloon Theatre as part of the festival’s 11th round and consisted of numerous religious songs and recites.

Two just-wed couples were present during the show along with their families and loved ones, to enjoy their special night in the midst of a religious and spiritual atmosphere.

The special presence of the couple caused a noticeable social engagement to take place between them and the performers on stage, who in turn congratulated the couple for their recent marriage and wished them happiness.

The play mainly revolves around the youth who grew up around Prophet Mohamed and how both impacted each other’s lives. The play also illustrates how Prophet Mohamed observed the youth around him and how he influenced their up-bringing through his holy advice and guiding.

Famous religious singer Ahmed al-Kahlawy, along with Ahmad Maher and Madiha Hamdy share the leading roles in the play. Several young actors/actresses are performing as well such as Ahmed Azmi, Iman Imam and Reda Idris.

The play is written by Serag el-Din Abdel Kader and the director assistant is Mohamed el Asyouty.

Al-Kahlawy and actress Madiha Hamdy claimed that the play aims to target the youth nowadays and encourage them to become more like the youth that were influenced by the Prophet, by taking them as role models and becoming more engaged in building the nation and becoming trustworthy and dependable individuals.

Moreover, the play illustrated how the Prophet trusted certain youths at the time, such as Asma’a Bint Abu Bakr and Osama ibn Zeid; the Prophet allowed them to handle leading roles even though they were young in age, but mature and trustworthy.
