Cairo – 6 June 2018: Just more than halfway through the holy month of Ramadan, “Kalabsh” (Handcuffs) part 2 is already achieving great success.

With 17 episodes aired so far, the series has been engaging the viewer with a concoction of intense suspense and action, clearly containing subliminal messages that relay important messages that revolve around the following:

1- The series mainly shed light on the important role and the endless sacrifices and efforts the Egyptian police and security forces exert to fight terrorism, which undermines the solidarity of the country’s people and its general interests.

In the series, Egypt’s police and security forces are portrayed by Selim el Ansary, a police officer in the Special Forces, played by superstar Amir Karara.

Ansary sacrifices every precious person or thing in his life for the love of his country and for the hate of terrorism, which mars Egypt and its people and interests without mercy.

Ansary eventually loses his sister and wife in an act of terrorism, and his mother was paralyzed.

This creates an unquenchable thirst in Ansary to avenge his beloved ones and country. Such a depiction represents the lives of Egyptian police and the daily battles they face to protect Egypt and its people.

2- The police in Egypt are advanced and well trained to deal with the technology and advanced arsenal of weapons terrorists use today.

The local police are far more intelligent than terrorists, no matter how cunning the latter can be, and the former can easily plant an undercover agent to penetrate any terrorist network.

Maged el Masry is such a spy in the series, playing the role of officer Tamer Hamza, who was planted in an international terrorist.

The series revealed to the public that there will come an end to all evil and unjust people. This notion was portrayed in the series during episode 15, when Haitham Ahmad Zaki (playing the role of Akef) found his father, Abul Ezz el Gabalawi (played by Abdul Rahman Abu Zahra), dead on his bed, after an earlier confrontation that broke out between them. This incident came after Akef discovered that his father murdered his mother when he was a newborn and left him to be uncared for and be raised with the gypsies, without receiving any fatherly love.

3- Throughout different scenes, the series shows that terrorists, murderers and those involved in human trafficking follow the “every man for himself” notion.

In such criminal organizations, the series shows that no one cares about or trusts the other.

4- The series clearly relayed messages to the public blended in several scenes that praised Egyptian mothers.

Star Hala Fakher amazingly played the role of Karara’s mother in the series, greatly convincing viewers and critics alike with her stellar performance, which showed an array of emotions.

Fakher represented the Egyptian woman in general: strong, patient and faithful. She does not give up on her family no matter how tough the going gets. This was especially depicted after the death of her daughter Sara in a terrorist attack.

Her son, Ansary, also faced numerous assassination attempts, which he survived.

"Kalabsh" part 2 series is directed by Peter Mimi, written by Baher Doweidar and produced by Synergy Productions owned by producer Tamer Morsi.
