El Geinena Theater hosts Tunisian band Ÿuma on April 19

CAIRO – 18 April 2018: El Geinena Theater starts its program by hosting Tunisian music band, Ÿuma, on Thursday April 19.

Founded in 2015, Ÿuma are known for their astonishing mash-ups which fuse folkloric and Western songs. They have previously performed in various European countries, in addition to most of the music platforms in their hometown, Tunisia.

The band consists of two remarkable musicians who compose these mash-ups. The first member is musician, painter and former culture journalist Sabrine Jenhani who is passionate about jazz and rock. The other member is musician Ramy Zoghlami who is a self-taught singer, and guitarist; he is known for participating in various indie-rock and electronic music projects. Yuma’s first album "CHURA" was released in 2016 while their most recent album, “Ghbar Njoum”, was released in February 2018.

On Monday April 30, Egyptian composer, singer and renowned oud player Hazem Shaheen will be presenting his latest projects, in collaboration with Lebanese bassist Andre Segone, Egyptian Pianist Ramy Atallah and percussionist Hany Bedair. Egyptian singer and songwriter Maryam Saleh will return to El Genaina Theater in the closing concert to present her songs from "Mesh Baghanny" and "Halawella" albums on Friday May 4.
