CAIRO – 7 April 2018: Counselor, psychologist and actress Georgette Savvides, known by her stage name Gina Selim, is currently shooting her scenes for the series "Al Rehla 710" from director Hossam Ali, which is set to air during the Ramadan season.

Selim portrays a high-class wife who owns a clothes shop, and this marks her second time collaborating with Syrian actor Bassel Al Khayat and director Hossam Ali. "Al Rehla 710" isn't the only show she's working on for this Ramadan season, however, as she's also got her hands full starring in the TV series “Bani Youssef”, which is also set to star Egyptian superstar Yousra.

Selim desired to be a psychologist from a young age, wishing to help people and learn more about the human mind. Combining her love of acting with her psychological pursuits, Selim has created a service known as "psych-cinema", which she offered last Ramadan to the drama series “30 Youm”, where she worked as a consultant psychologist behind the scenes to counsel the cast, ensuring total accuracy for the show's psychological moments. Her service aims at offering psychological counseling services for actors, writers, directors and filmmakers who wish to be accurate and respectful in their portrayal of psychological issues, training them to give the best portrayals possible.

Amongst her qualifications, Selim has a professional doctorate in psychology from American and European universities, along with a bachelor's degree in arts in psychology from the American University in Cairo. She has also written articles since 2005 for numerous magazines, such as Cleo, Cairo East, Diva, Insight, Daily News and Campus. Selim has also appeared as a guest speaker on various TV shows.

As if that wasn't enough, she is also the founder and owner of Cairo's "Psychealth Counseling and Training Services", which opened in 2009. It utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy treatment to aid in the healing process, along with a training department and educational program supervised and designed by her. Recently, she published an autobiographical book in Arabic titled "My Journey", which recounts her career as a psychologist from the beginning and has been listed in Al Kotob Khan's "Top 10 Best Selling Books".
