CAIRO – 27 March 2018: With support from the British Council, Palestinian organization Filmlab: Palestine selected eight Arab film projects to take place in the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) producers workshop from March 26 to 29 at the Khalil Al Sakakini Center in Ramallah.

The workshop will tackle three specific points for filmmakers: script development strategies, the role of the producer, and sales and the international market. Three EAVE experts – producer Roshanak Nedjad, screenwriter Clare Downs, and distributor Aranka Matits – will be teaching the master classes as part of the workshop. According to a press release by MAD Solutions, the workshop aims at supporting students in figuring out what kind of producers they are.

Founded in 1988, EAVE is Europe's leading training, development and networking organization for producers. In addition to the workshops, EAVE is involved in a variety of programs across Europe, Asia, Latin America, Russia, Africa and the Arab world.

EAVE’s main target is to offer professional opportunities for upcoming generations of producers all over the world in order to coordinate co-production relationships between distributor’s agents, distributors, and commissioning editors, among others.

Inspired by the personal experience of its founders, “Filmlab: Palestine” was founded in 2014 for the purpose of empowering Palestinian youth by providing them all needed technical and artistic to enrich the cinema culture in Palestine. FilmLab: Palestine has also recently joined the Arab Cinema Center Partners' list.
