CAIRO - 22 January 2018: Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anany said that the process of relocating Ramses II statue to its new place in the Grand Egyptian Museum will take one hour.

The process will be carried out on Thursday, he noted, adding that it is not less important than transferring the statue from Ramses Square in 2006.

The Arab Contractors Company will implement the process, the minister said.

In statements on Monday, Anany underlined that a simulation of the process of moving the statue is being carried out to examine if the road can bear the 82-ton weight of the statue.

The moving process will be witnessed by a number of ministers, ambassadors, officials and cadres at the Antiquities Ministry, he said.
