CAIRO – 20 January 2018: Egypt Information Portal (EIP) confirmed on Sunday that the Ministry of Antiquities will not lease the Pyramids area for a foreign company, according to a released statement by EIP.

Some false statements have been previously published, stating that the ministry is planning to lease the area for 20 years in return for great capital gain. The ministry has clarified that a foreign company specialized in lighting and sound has proposed to develop the special show being held in Egypt entitled “Light and Sound”.

The proposal has not been yet approved to this day as it is being studies and overlooked by committees within the ministry. The ministry has also confirmed that the Ministry of General Businesses is responsible for finalizing any contracts between the “Light and Sound” company and other companies specialized in developing shows held in the Pyramids area that require light and sound.
