CAIRO- 18 April 2017: Algerian singer Souad Massi arrived in Cairo this week for her upcoming performance at Pyramid Hills Compound in Giza on Thursday 20 April. The concert is Massi’s second in Egypt after her performance in 2016.

Massi is a very popular name for underground music fans as she is known for her blend of authentic Arabic compositions with a bit of an indie and folklore approach in her songs.

Although Massi’s career is based in Paris, she sings in Arabic and Algerian accents along with French. The concert, hosted by Sawt music production, is set to promote Massi’s latest album “The Best of Souad Massi.”

The album is a collaborative work between Massi and German-Egyptian band “Cairo Steps” who is also set to perform at the concert.

The latest album is considered to be Massi’s seventh studio album since 2015 when she released her album “El Mutakallimun.”

Massi kicked off her musical career in 2001 when she released her first debut solo album “Raoui” (storyteller), gaining her wide popularity in France, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco as it was sung in French and Algerian.

Tickets range from EPG 400 – EPG 1,000. Booking can be done online at E7gezly.com.
